What is Dota 2

Dota 2 is a real-time strategy game developed and published by Valve Corporation and released digitally on the Steam platform in 2012. In July 2013, however, the versions dedicated to macOS and Linux platforms were launched . In Dota 2 the main objective for each of the two teams is to destroy the opposing team’s fortress . Battles usually take place within paths that connect the two bases, flanked by various defense towers. There are several game modes , among the most common are All Pick, All Random, Captain’s Mode, SIngle Draft  according to these modes the different game mechanics vary , even if there are different points in common to all the games. First of all, there is the choice of the character: the player can choose a hero among 111 characters, and each of them is equipped with peculiar abilities .

No two heroes can be the same in the same game (except in Mid Only, All Random Deathmatch and any Lobby Private modes ). The game starts at -1: 00 minutes: during this small amount of time, the various players can buy the starting items and position themselves in their respective lanes . At 0:00 the first wave of Creeps is released. The Creeps are enemies controlled by the AI  who, positioned along the various lanes, head towards the structures of the opposing teams, and collide with the rival creeps on the so-called “creep lane”.

Every 30 seconds there is a wave of new creeps that are getting stronger and stronger. At 4:00 the first night takes place, which lasts another four minutes. Night and day alternate regularly every four minutes . The main objective of the 10 heroes during the game is to collect coins by inflicting the final blow to the opponent’s creeps , jungle neutrals, and opposing heroes, to take down the towers that protect the opposing base and finally destroy it. But beyond that, there are other ways to end a game. Opponents could end it early by writing “days” in the chat (ie “good game”, this option is only available in Team vs Team mode in a private room).

The game can also end when all members of a team log off at the same time , thus giving victory to the opponents. In the All Random Deathmatch mode, the game can also end when one of the two teams suffers 40 deaths.

The heroes of Dota 2: skills and items

Skills are the moves that any hero can use , but not all of them are accessible right away. To unlock a skill, or to be able to upgrade one you already have (but only if your level is high enough), you need to level up . This happens by killing Creeps or rival Heroes, each of which will award experience points . The highest level that can be reached per match is 25. The first 3 skills of a Hero have 4 levels of enhancement available, and can be of different types: most of them must be activated manually , some are always active, while others are still part of the type enabled / disabled .

A Hero’s last skill is called Ultimate and is generally the most powerful skill the character has. Like all other skills, even the Ultimate are of different types, but, unlike the standard skills, they only have 3 levels of enhancement. The points are assigned to the hero’s statistics , each point increases all attributes by 2, but a maximum of 10 points can be assigned to the statistics except for a single character, Invoker.

In addition to skills, equipment is essential for a Hero. The latter can be enriched with items from the main Shop (located in the team’s spawn point), while other items can only be purchased in the Secret Shop, hidden inside the map. Still other items can be purchased through the Side Shop , accessible from Top Lane and Bot Lane. Each object allows you to improve certain parameters, or to use new skills. Some of the items are “consumables”, such as those used to heal the Hero, as well as those that offer vision of a portion of the map. During the course of a game, the purchase of items appropriate to the Hero in use is essential to achieve victory.

Wings Gaming

Wings Gaming are one of the best teams to come from China , and considering the competition in the Beijing region, and the many teams that are equal, they are really strong. They were formed in 2014, and among the various victories brought home there is that of the most important international Dota2 tournament, with the highest prize pool in the history of eSports, The international with a prize pool of 9 million dollars . OG

Formed in 2015, the OG Europeans were the 2016 Manila Major winners , plus OG became the first team at Dota 2 to win two official Valve events. This team immediately proved to have a lot of potential, winning the first edition of the Inaugural Dota 2 Major championship in November 2015 , taking home a prize pool of around 1 million dollars . In August 2016, some of the founding members left the team, so they were forced to revisit the entire lineup. But that didn’t stop him from taking victory at the Boston Major in December 2016, adding another major league to the victories.. The team currently consists of captain Johan ” N0tail ” Sundstein, Martin ” Saksa ” Sazdov, Sébastien “CEB” Debs, Topias ” Dawson ” Taavitsainen and Yeik ” Mydon ” Nai Zheng .
